Wellington, FL (January 19, 2021) - Gabriela Reutter has kicked off 2021 firing on all cylinders. From Grand Prix success to fitness to fashion, the 24-year-old's vision for her riding career and her Lumiere Horses brand is quickly coming to fruition. Only 3 weeks into 2021, Reutter finished 3rd aboard her own Maharees Rock in WEF 1's $30,000 Pilates Rocks Grand Prix, starred in a new, self-created equestrian workout, and was the model for a fashion & sport shoot for her own sponsors, jewelry, and fashion designers. Setting the tone for 2021, the top 3 Grand Prix finish against a large field of Olympic and international riders marks a major milestone for the young Chilean show jumper.

Reutter and the Irish bred Maharees Rock (Obos Quality x Atlantic Sally), aka Rocky, were one of only 9 first round clears out of 48 entries during the WEF 1 Sunday Grand Prix. Margie Engle delivered the first clear jump-off, but was bumped into fourth with clear and fast rounds from Hilary McNerney, Tiffany Foster, and Reutter. Rocky, who has been blossoming under Reutter, is beginning to show her talent at the international level. "I'm so proud of Rocky and the progress she's made," said Reutter. "She only did her first Grand Prix a few months ago in Traverse City. She has been steadily building her confidence and technique and we have been building our partnership. I was thrilled with our first round clear and just wanted to keep her clean and fast in the jump-off. It was also really helpful to have ridden the course first on Monty [Atticus Diamant] to then be able to apply the best strategy for Rocky. I'm very grateful to my trainer, Chris Kappler and the entire Chris Kappler Inc. team, my sponsors, family, and supporters for being a part of my journey with her."

Out of the saddle, Reutter is a stylish and fitness conscious equestrian. She regularly posts follow-along workouts, including her latest equestrian workout posted to YouTube. With an audience of horses, some her own, at Kappler's Wellington training base, Reutter walks viewers through a workout designed to develop balance, mobility, and musculature with the goal of being more precise in the saddle and decreasing the risk of injury while riding. In late December, Reutter teamed up with two fashion brands along with her own performance sponsors to create stunning imagery. MdeM Designs provided elegant equestrian themed jewelry featuring Tahitian pearls, silver horse shoes, and fashionable accessories to match Odette Boutique's chic looks that included elevated casual wear and equestrian inspired pieces. Reutter also sported bold show jackets and breeches from Sakkara Equestrian, newly minted Fabbri VEG vegan leather riding boots, and tack from Butet USA.

Reutter's passion for equestrian sport began at a young age, and has since taken her to the upper echelons of show jumping. Combining talent, horsemanship, and dedication to her dreams, she rides with the aspiration of representing Chile at the pinnacle of show jumping sport. Born in Santiago, Chile, Gaby began riding at only four years old. At 17, she moved to the United States to pursue a professional show jumping career. Since 2014, she has ridden under the guidance of Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist Chris Kappler, and completed her undergraduate degree in Economics and Business Studies at NYU.

To date, Gaby has multiple top finishes in international FEI classes, from the U25 Grand Prix divisions to victory in an FEI 4-star event. She currently campaigns her two show jumpers, Atticus Diamant (aka Monty) and Maharees Rock (aka Rocky), at the FEI level. Both had excellent results during WEF 2020, and you can read more about Gaby’s horses here. Her international equestrian CV also includes Spruce Meadows, The Hampton Classic, and several junior/young rider South American Games. In 2018, Reutter received her certificate of capability for the Pan American Games following a top 3 finish in the FEI 3-star 1.50M Captive One Classic.
