Traverse City, MI (August 16, 2021) - Summer show jumping proved fruitful for Chile's Gabriela Reutter, owner and rider for Lumiere Horses. Her three campaign horses put in competitive rides during GLEF II, III, IV, & V, with top finishes in everything from the 1.25M to the $137,000 3-star Grand Prix. Under the tutelage of Chris Kappler, Reutter's skillful piloting has allowed her horses to flourish.

During GLEF II, Daikina D’Heyboght Z (aka Daikina) kicked off Reutter's Michigan tour with a 4th in day one's $3,000 CSI 2-star, followed by a 6th in day two's $3,000 class and a 6th in the $15,000 final. Maharees Rock (aka Rocky) has been developing beautifully into a top international Grand Prix horse, and proved her mettle with a 7th place in the $5,000 CSI 2-star during GLEF II. Here I Am Z (aka Hero), the newest addition to Lumiere's string, finished 4th in the 1.20M during GLEF II.

GLEF III saw Daikina, who is offered for sale via Lumiere, finish first in the 1.35M and Hero finish 6th in the 1.30M. GLEF IV was slated to bring Rocky to top form in the CSI 2-star classes in preparation for GLEF V's CSI 3-star. The 2010 Irish Sport Horse mare's consistency and scope has made her one of Lumiere's most promising talents. But Daikina wasn't going to let her barnmate totally steal the spotlight during GLEF III; the Zangersheide mare finished 4th in the 1.30M and won the 1.35M (watch here).

GLEF V represented the culmination of Reutter's efforts with Rocky and Hero. Announcing is presence as a super competitive 1.30M ride, the coming 9-year-old Zangersheide gelding finished double clear and third during week four (watch here). Having qualified for the $137,000 CaptiveOne Advisors Grand Prix CSI 3-star, Reutter and Rocky knew they would have stiff competition and a big challenge over the 1.50-1.60M, 13-obstacle track set by Alan Wade (IRL). Twenty-eight starters, including Reutter, tackled the technical course, and Rocky's first round yielded no rails and only a single time fault (time allowed 81, Rocky's time 81.86). "I really worked hard stay focused on the class to give my best for Rocky, the whole team, and myself, because I knew we deserved it," said Reutter. "Rocky has come so far in just two years, developing from a 1.40M horse to a 3-star horse. Rocky and my team really came through, and I was very happy with our single time fault over such a trying course. I'm really excited for the future with her and my other horses!"

In addition to Daikina, Lumiere also offers for sale Il Etait Une Fois a Rivereuille, aka River. A 7-year-old Belgian Sporthorse gelding, River boats endless scope, a super hindend, and recently moved up to the 1.30M level. With USA's Devin Ryan in the saddle, River's Princeton Show Jumping tour included a 1st, 7th, & 8th in the 1.30M. Click above to watch his winning round!

Reutter's passion for equestrian sport began at a young age, and has since taken her to the upper echelons of show jumping. Combining talent, horsemanship, and dedication to her dreams, she rides with the aspiration of representing Chile at the pinnacle of show jumping sport. Born in Santiago, Chile, Gaby began riding at only four years old. At 17, she moved to the United States to pursue a professional show jumping career. Since 2014, she has ridden under the guidance of Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist Chris Kappler, and completed her undergraduate degree in Economics and Business Studies at NYU.

To date, Gaby has multiple top finishes in international FEI classes, from the U25 Grand Prix divisions to victory in an FEI 4-star event. She currently campaigns her two show jumpers, Atticus Diamant (aka Monty) and Maharees Rock (aka Rocky), at the FEI level. Both had excellent results during WEF 2021, including a WEF 1 Grand Prix victory and back-to-back wins in the FEI CSI2-star 1.45M. Read more about Gaby’s horses here. Her international equestrian CV also includes Spruce Meadows, The Hampton Classic, and several junior/young rider South American Games. She and Rocky were in the top 3 in the $30,000 Pilates Rock Grand Prix during WEF 1, and in 2018, Reutter received her certificate of capability for the Pan American Games following a top 3 finish in the FEI 3-star 1.50M Captive One Classic.
